VERSELET

On the occasion of World Poetry Day which is celebrated on March 21st every year, let me send my best wishes to all poets and writers around the world. You are doing a great job, imparting good values to mankind!

Here are a few lines which I think would justify my thoughts on poetry …



Thoughts came into words in a flow

As mighty, for the minds would bow

Written with expressions invisible

That evokes emotions in the readers visible

Sure, dialogue can trigger the feelings

But verses silently work through its meanings

Enriched in imageries and meter

Brings colours to life as in a theater

Celebrated in every culture, every continent

Poetry is but a prophet too excellent

A Day Will Follow Again!

  Life sometimes throws you to the end, You know not what, or where to mend. All you see is the box, big and hollow, With nothing in it, but darkness and sorrow.   No thoughts click, no action unfold Solutions meet with problems untold. Wonder what purpose keeps you aboard And remain connected to this holy abode.   Sanity becomes a prodigious miss, As you tumble into deep abyss. No words of wisdom and no hope, Would soothe your miserable self to cope.   An empty look is what you adorn, Reflecting into the past that makes you worn. All you need is resolutions to define, That this languidity too will pass with time.   Darkness is never here to remain, You'll find your strength to rise again. Impassive Humans!

  Thy heart is now but sedimented rock Anger, anxiety and fear flock Without compassion, love or contentment Filled to the brim with only resentment   His beautiful creation has lost its charm The purpose now is only to harm His warning not to taste the fruit of greed Was dumped without reason and without heed   Vengeance to the core and hatred to the bones Has but left with many deserted wones An eye for an eye has made thee blind Kinship is now a luxury we seldom find   Loss weighs heavier than gain Every strike brings immense pain Will thy ever see to reason The world is all but changing seasons © Anjana Premkumar 2024 * wones means human dwellings
