VERSELET

On the occasion of World Poetry Day which is celebrated on March 21st every year, let me send my best wishes to all poets and writers around the world. You are doing a great job, imparting good values to mankind!

Here are a few lines which I think would justify my thoughts on poetry …



Thoughts came into words in a flow

As mighty, for the minds would bow

Written with expressions invisible

That evokes emotions in the readers visible

Sure, dialogue can trigger the feelings

But verses silently work through its meanings

Enriched in imageries and meter

Brings colours to life as in a theater

Celebrated in every culture, every continent

Poetry is but a prophet too excellent

(a Sonnet)  Are you happy up above in Heaven? Or grieving, leaving behind your loved ones? Did you bag any new confidants even? I bet they may be many a tens! Do you believe when I say I miss you? I haven’t given you any reasons to prove so The squabbles we had weren’t any few They had no logic, for you to know. I crave for your hugs you could bestow Would you cradle my head in your arms? I would pour my heart in a platter in a row And drown myself in the warmth of your charms I wish I had told you this a thousand times Mom! You are my idol and I love you to nines!

Patriotism should be Instilled and not Forced!

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of uniting the whole nation under the umbrella of Nationalism and evoking Patriotism in each co-citizen’s mind, has quite far been successful. Under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Mission, we can now see the Tricolor flying high and vibrant in most of the homes, streets, institutions, important monuments and other significant places. The Indian Flag, which could only be hoisted on very special occasions and at very important places, was now seen flying freely at millions of houses. Every citizen of India now has the liberty to hoist the Tricolor. Our flag is now, not at the mercy of the A-class officials or the privileged, to be soaring high.   On the occasion of India celebrating its 75 th year of Independence, when  the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Campaign seems to have achieved its near goal, one can also see the frustrations of many citizens who are forced to follow this, to prove their Nationalism.
