Bliss to Despair

Cluck cluck, this way dear horsey

The sky is so bright and blue

I know you are happy and I am too

What’s holding you back though?

Ah, it must be the meadows for sure

It’s lush green vibrance tempting you

But my friend let’s move along -

There’s more to see, to explore!

Life is but a ball of curiosity

Look, those pine trees standing tall

Like silhouettes of proud men on call

Mysterious yet enticing to hear

Its shadows whispering tales unclear

Queer and bizarre may it seem

I find beauty in Nature’s darkest seam

The bewitching call of the deep

Cloaked in mystery yet serene

Luring like a sorceress with spells unseen

Let’s climb these mountains

Reach higher to touch the sky

Where winds whistle lullabies

and clouds hug to comfort your soul

Come my friend let’s move along -

There’s more to see, to explore!

Do you hear the pops my dear -

Crackles of fire crackers, are they?

Or practice bangs of army drills nearby?

Oh no, they’re shots gone wrong -

Fired by souls demented, unhinged!

Point blank were their shots to confirm

No men would stand up too stubborn

To voice, to retaliate

To seek help against the fate

Lives were slain edorsing their hate

Chaos erupted, bullets fired, blood splattered

Men and horses ran scattered

Wails of whose loved ones lay cold

Enough to melt the hardest mould

Yet their aims spared no second thought

Are they not men like us

With emotions and weakness bare

Were their heart and soul not in place

For their violent spree were cruel

And unforgivable to bear

What could justify this carnage

What purpose did it serve

The sky, the meadow, the forest

All lost its vibrant hue

Reflecting the turmoil of bereaved souls

Alas my friend!  How can we move on ?

There’s more to see, than meets the eyes…

Dear horsey left me standing alone

A harsh reminder

that fate must be faced alone

Startling cold touch on my temples cued

I am at the gateway to the nether world

In the final seconds of respire

I recalled my last moments of bliss

If this is my final journey uncalled unprepared

I leave with no regrets - for my last breath

Was spent in heaven, paradise on earth!
